In addition to our main program areas, we also undertake major initiatives that reflect elements of all our programs. These Special Initiatives usually require significant funding over a period of years in an effort to make a groundbreaking impact in a particular area.
One of our notable projects was the Flip Oak Cliff Project in 2011, an after-school mentoring program taught by industry professionals. Eighth-grade students at LV Stockard Middle School learned the art of storytelling through digital filmmaking. The students made short films, which screened for the entire school and uploaded on YouTube for voting.
